It’s Bird HQ in Malanda, FNQ. It’s 3 acres of private gardens, yours to enjoy after a day out exploring the beautiful surrounds of the Atherton Tablelands and it’s a birders heaven. The Bird Hide is the perfect base camp for your travels. Malanda is conveniently located, close to many of the Tablelands attractions with waterfalls, National Parks, unique wildlife and amazing scenery all within an easy drive.

A spacious self-contained unit, somewhere to relax and chill after a hard day out with the binos and cameras, somewhere to reflect upon the amazing sights and countryside of the Tablelands. Just pick up some provisions in town on your way home, grab a cold beer and cook up a meal in your outdoors dining room. Relax. Take in the starry skies.
Breakfast goodies are supplied, ready for you to enjoy at your leisure. The garden dining area is the perfect location for a ‘Breakfast with the Birds’.
The birds are abundant. The most recent count was 74 species on the property and immediate surrounds plus migratory and fly over species. The bird baths are always busy with the extensive gardens attracting a vast range of species. With 15 years of local birding experience, Jennifer is happy to share her local knowledge to help you maximise your time on the Tablelands and find those target species.
Information about sights and attractions, plus maps and field guides can be found in your room…. there’s so much to see, don’t forget to track down the incredible Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo. They like to visit The Bird Hide too.
