These tours are run by the Sydney Pelagic Group Cooperative comprising four local birders who are keen to keep these pelagics operating, and will continue to run as long as the support of the local and overseas birding fraternity continues.

SOSSA was founded by members of the New South Wales Albatross Study Group (NSWASG) in 1994. It was set up to be an umbrella organisation for many study groups concerned with studies of Southern Ocean biodiversity.

SOSSA is a wildlife research and conservation group which consists of dedicated people both professional and amateur. These people share a common interest and concern for the environment and the wildlife of the Southern Oceans.

Neil Macumber after many years working for tour companies has now decided to start his own company along with his partner Alison Bainbridge.   Birdswing Birding & Wildlife Tours is based in the majestic Grampians specialising in bird and wildlife tours. Alison and Neil are both experienced travellers.  Neil has visited all the known important birding areas in Australia and the not so well known.

North Queensland Birding Boat Trips

Daintree Boatman
Daintree Boatman Nature Tours provides two hour dawn and dusk cruises on the Daintree River targeting highly sought-after birds, crocodiles and snakes. Key target birds include Great-billed Heron, Papuan Frogmouth, Little Kingfisher, Black Bittern, Shining Flycatcher and Azure Kingfisher. Cruises are conducted in a small stable open vessel which allows great views and photography of wildlife. Cruises are limited to a maximum of 10 passengers.
